For blogging, and sharing your posts on google, you need to go through few methods.
Like, adding your blog on google search console,
Then, creating a good level robot.txt file,
And, make a good sitemap of your blog.
Now, if your on wordpress, then you can trust on xml sitemap, its very easy. But, if your using blogger, then you can use xml sitemap, but it’s not recommended.
I was using xml sitemap on my blog. It was the starting of my blog journey, and I had no ideas of what sitemap is, so I went to a sitemap generator, and I generated an xml sitemap for my blog. I past it on my robots.txt file and also, into my search console, after a month or two I saw, no better result on google. My blog wasn’t showing on google.
So, I was very disappointed, at that time. I thought a lot, about what to do now. Then, I saw a video on youtube where I learned, that you need Atom sitemap, which is better recommended for blogger. But, why?
Blogger is more comfortable with atom rather than xml. It’s very unlikely, i mean, if you have used wordpress site, you’ll know that wordpress recommendation is xml sitemap.
So, first it was confusing for me, but now It's clear for me. I changed my blogger sitemap on Robots.txt file, and also, I updated my old xml sitemap with atom, on google search console. I waited few weeks, and finally my blog started to show in the google searches. So, this is why i suggests you to change your sitemap on blogger with atom, because this is blogger sitemap 2021.
>Now, if you don’t know what atom sitemap is, then it’ll look exactly like this↓
https://your_blog_address_here/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
^^^Copy this sitemap, and paste it on your blogger robots.txt
Also, remove your old sitemap from search console and update it with this sitemap.
Please note, this recommendation is for only blogger user's, don’t use this method on wordpress, or else you can loose your ranking.
